Last year's European Week for Safety and Health at Work was dedicated to getting young people off to a safe start to their working lives. ’Safe Start’ was the theme of the campaign organised by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work in 2006.
Results of the campaign
The campaign achieved a great deal. It put the issue on the agenda for many sectors, and real progress has been made. Things have moved on since then. Government policy has continued to evolve, and technology is advancing rapidly. The Netherlands Focal Point organised the 2006 European Week, and took the opportunity to arrange a round table meeting with various organisations active in the field during the 2007 European Week, which focuses on physical strain.
'Safe Start' round table meeting
This meeting looked at developments in government policy, technological progress, and what has happened to the good practice examples of 2006.
