NATIONAL INFORMATION ON OSH RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

 

Through the following webpages, the main research stakeholders in regarding the issues of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and of Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) are presented.

More specifically, information is provided regarding:

CENTER OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (KYAE)

The Center Of Occupational Health And Safety (KYAE) is a Directorate of the General Directorate of Health and Safety at Work under the Hellenic Ministry of Employment & Social Protection. KYAE  is a Centre of applied OSH research with permanent and portable laboratorial equipment for conducting research projects aiming to the chemical and biological agents determinations in the workplaces and to the determination of biological agents in workers. It carries out among others, research programmes and studies on OSH and HPW and provides scientific and technical support to the Labour Inspectors.

Also KYAE is the National Focal Point for the European Network for Workplace Health Promotion, while since 2005 it was also the National Focal Point for the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work as well as the National Information Center (CIS Centre) in cooperation with the International CIS Centres Network of the International Labour Office (ILO).

HELLENIC INSTITUTE FOR OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (ELINYAE)

 

The Hellenic Institute for Occupational Health And Safety (ELINYAE) is a non-profit organization established by the main employers and workers organizations at national level: the Association of the Greek Industries (S.E.V.) and the Hellenic Trade Unions Confederation (GE.S.E.E.).

Having mainly an advisory role, it provides expert and advisory services to enterprises and trade unions in the field of OSH , in particular within the areas of information, research, training and education. Through its internet site it offers in electronic form a database regarding the OSH research activity in Greece.

NATIONAL HELLENIC RESEARCH FOUNDATION - NATIONAL DOCUMENTATION CENTER 

National Documentation Center is a department of the National Hellenic Research Foundation and is supervised by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology of the Ministry of Development. It is the main national organization that collects, organizes and provides information over technology and various research subjects, including research on OSH issues. It is also operating as Documentation Center , recording in printed or digital form all the above information.  

 

Through this Center is operating online the ‘Ermis’ provider with 31, up to now, national and European databases, among which the following databases under construction by the National Documentation Center:

    •  Greek Research Works  
    • National Archive of Hellenic Dissertations  
    • Hellenic Scientific and Technological Libraries  

    • Collective Magazines List

 

as well as the following databases being prepared by other Greek organizations:

    • Medical bibliography database  
    • Database ‘Glafka’, referring to social matters by the Technical Chamber of Greece. 

      Through ‘Ermis’ are accessible the Hellenic Academic Libraries and the Library Automation Software System.

TECHNICAL CHAMBER OF GREECE (T.E.E.) 

The Technical Chamber of Greece is the official professional body of all licensed engineers graduates of Greek Universities. A database with an online access through the Web is operating through the Information and Documentation Unit of T.C.G, providing online information for the entire scientific work of T.C.G., the facts and research results of various work groups financed by T.C.G., including those with research on OSH matters as well as articles published in various T.C.G.’s  scientific publications.
