GREECE:European Union Occupational Safety and Health system

GOOD PRACTICE

Practical applications of legislation, solutions to OSH problems, collection of similar data from enterprises and other material which is successfully applied in the field of occupational safety and health at national level are presented in this section.

1. GENERAL INFORMATION


The entire legislative framework of provisions and good practice rules in our country is constituted by:
  • the national legislation (EL), the older as well as the recent one, which is based on the EU Directives and
  • the guidelines (EL), for the correct implementation of legislative provisions and for other specific issues   
2. MODELS OF GOOD PRACTICE - SPECIALIZED SOLUTIONS

2.1 The following models of good practice from Greece have been submitted to the EU-OSHA within the framework of the annual "European Week for Safety and Health at Work"campaigns.

A. Successful prevention of risks from occupational noise (European Week 2007)

B. Successful prevention of risks from occupational noise (European Week 2006)

 D. Successful prevention of risks during construction (European Week 2004)

 
E. Successful prevention of risks from dangerous substances at work (European Week 2003)

G. Work related accident prevention (European Week 2001)

 
H. Preventing musculoskeletal disorders  (European Week 2000 )


2.2 Models of Good Practice for the SMEs (EU-OSHA SMEs Funding Schemes)

The EU-funded schemes for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) focused on promoting the development and exchange of effective good practice examples that reduce safety and health risks in the SMEs sector. Activities included training, information campaigns and the development of effective health and safety practices, focusing on priority hazards and high-risk sectors.

2.3 Models of good practice from Greece on workplace health promotion (WHP) -  European Network of Workplace Health Promotion, ENWHP

 
2.4 Project for recording practical solutions on the substitution of dangerous chemical substances, the musculoskeletal problems in the work and stress at work.
The project was undertaken by K.Y.A.E., as the National Focal Point of the European Agency for Health and Safety at Work, in collaboration with ELINYAE, in the framework of a European program financed by the European Agency EU-OSHA.
