1. Presidential Decree 162/2007 (Official Gazette 202/A/23-08-2007)

2. Presidential Decree 212/2006 (Official Gazette 212/Α/09-10-2006 )

Protection of workers exposed to asbestos at work in accordance to Council Directive 83/477/EEC, as amended by Council Directive 91/382/EEC and Council Directive 2003/18/EC “Amending Council Directive 83/477/EEC on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to asbestos at work”

NEW PUBLICATIONS

Within the framework of the European Campaign  for Safety and Health at Work 2007 and for supporting the planned   activities during the European Week 2007 (22-26 October), dedicated to the promotion of an integrated approach in order to effectively tackle musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) related to work, under the main message "LIGHTEN THE LOAD", the following products have been produced in order to support the campaign at national level:

 
          • "Musculoskeletal Disorders - Lighten the Load", an informative booklet on key OSH issues related to musculoskeletal disorders at work. 
          •  "Musculoskeletal Disorder - Good Practice Examples", a raising of awareness cartoon booklet for the provision of useful practical information in order to effectively manage the work related musculoskeletal disorders in various sectors, activities and workplaces. 

          • "Musculoskeletal Disorder - Lighten the Load", a raising of awareness cartoon leaflet aiming to the provision of  basic information and to the raising of awareness on MSDs in the educational community (students of different educational levels and of the vocational training centers).

          • "EW 2007 Folder", a completed package including all the informative and promotional material produced by the European Agency and the Greek Focal Point.   

Within the framework of the European Week 2006 (23-27 October) for Safety and Health at work, which was dedicated to the issue of making the workplaces safer and healthier for young workers, young people in general and for those about to enter the world of work, under the main message "SAFE START",

the following products have been produced in order to support the campaign at national level:

          • "Safety and Health for young workers", an informative booklet with main national OSH legislation and good practices concerning the young workers. 
          •  "Safe Start", a raising of awareness cartoon booklet with the main OSH issues for young people.

          • "EW 2006 Folder", a completed package including all the informative and promotional material produced by the European Agency and the Greek Focal Point.   
          •  "National OSH Legislation", an informative cd for presenting main national OSH legislation as well as OSH publications and OSH information to young workers and to young people.
           

EVENTS

  • Within the framework of the European campaign 2007 and the European Week 2007 for  Safety and Health at Work, which was dedicated to  the work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders, under the main message "LIGHTEN THE LOAD" ,  an one day seminar was organised on 24-10-2007 in Ioannina, the capital city of the region of Ipiros, as the main Info event at national level.

    Presentations took place, positions and opinions were presented and also information material on the issue was
    distributed to a number of more than 300 participants.

    The distributed material was produced by the Greek Focal Point and the ELINYAE (the social partners main organization
    at national level), as well as by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work.

  • Τhe coming European Week  for Safety and Health at Work, through the framework of the European Campaign 2007 on the work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders, will aim to the promotion of an integrated management approach in order to tackle musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) at work, embracing prevention of MSDs, and the retention, rehabilitation and reintegration of workers who already suffer from MSDs.

    It will take place all around Europe from 22 until 26 October 2007.

4th International Conference 
“Challenges for Accident Prevention in a Changing Work Environment” - Working on Safety.Net

Following the success of the 1st Working on Safety Conference in Denmark (2002) , the 2nd Conference in Germany (2004) and the 3rd Conference in the Netherlands (2006),  the 4th International Conference of the Working on Safet.Net is being organized in Greece, on October 2008, by the Hellenic Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (ELINYAE).

The conference is supported by:

- the International Labour Office (ILO),

- the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work and

- the European Network of Safety & Health Professional Organisations (ENSHPO).

The central theme during this conference will be:

“Challenges for Accident Prevention in a Changing Work Environment”.

Contributors to teh conference will be provide insights into new trends in the changing world of work, such as new technologies, intensification of work and new forms of work and their relation to accident prevention. 

Location and Dates

 

 

The conference will be held on the island of Crete, Greece, in the period  30 September – 3 October 2008, at CRETA MARIS hotel, an Aegean Styke seaside resort Hotel and Conference Centre, situated 24 km east of the Heraklion International Airport, Crete.

Good Practice Awards 2007: "A European Campaign on Musculoskeletal disorders at work"
Deadline for submission: 29th of June 2007

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work invites nominations for the eighth European Good Practice Awards in occupational health and safety.

One of the principal activities to support the European campaign on musculoskeletal disorders is the European Good Practice Awards scheme that is organised specifically to identify examples of good practice related to MSDs.

The 2007 award scheme will recognise companies or organisations that have made outstanding and innovative contributions to promote an integrated management approach to tackle musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) embracing prevention of MSDs, and the retention, rehabilitation and reintegration of workers who already suffer from MSDs.
