- "Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft für Sicherheit und Gesundheit bei der Arbeit e.V." (BASI) (Federal Working Group on Safety and Health at Work, abbreviated to Basi in German)
Basi is an alliance of 51 German institutions in the field of safety and health at the workplace. It is active at the national and international levels, whilst still upholding its members' independence.
- "Berufsgenossenschaftliche Institut für Arbeitssicherheit" (BG Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, BGIA)
The "Berufsgenossenschaftliche Institut für Arbeitssicherheit" is the central research and testing institute of the industrial Berufsgenossenschafts, which provide statutory accident insurance in Germany.
- "Kommission Arbeitsschutz und Normung" (Commission for Occupational Health and Safety and Standardization, KAN)
KAN is composed of representatives of the social partners, the state (Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour/federal states), the HVBG (German Federation of Institutions for Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention) and DIN. Its task is to help German OSH institutions arrive at a common opinion and then to ensure that opinion is taken into account in the standardisation process at the European level.

FASI is the umbrella association of the following three technical/engineering associations:
- "Verein Deutscher Gewerbeaufsichtsbeamten e. V." (German Association of Labour Inspectors, VDGAB)
- "Verein Deutscher Revisionsingenieure" (German Association of Prevention Engineers, VDRI)
VDRI is the association of the Berufsgenossenschafts' prevention engineers.
Its membership is made up of the Berufsgenossenschafts' inspectors and other prevention experts from the Berufsgenossenschafts. VDRI promotes prevention quality at various levels.
- "Verband Deutscher Sicherheitsingenieure e.V." (Association of German Safety Engineers, VDSI)
VDSI is a nationwide association for everyone involved in OSH. Its members are company employees and self-employed persons who work in the field of occupational safety, health and environmental protection.
"Gesellschaft für Qualität im Arbeitsschutz mbH" (Society for Quality in Occupational Safety and Health, GQA)
is a VDSI company, comprised of two sections:
Quality Assurance and Quality Consulting and
Training.
"Bundesverband freiberuflicher Sicherheitsingenieure und überbetrieblicher Dienste e.V."
(Federal Association of Freelance Safety Engineers and Inter-Company Services, BFSI)
BFSI's purpose is to represent its members' OSH, business-related, professional and OSH interests.
"Verband Deutscher Betriebs- und Werksärzte e.V."
(German Association of Company Physicians, VDBW)
The VDBW site supplies quality-assured information.
"Kooperationsstelle Hamburg"
(Cooperation Centre Hamburg)
The "Kooperationsstelle" was set up by the "Behörde für Wissenschaft und Forschung Hamburg" (Hamburg Ministry of Science and Research). Its task is to promote cooperation between institutions of higher education and trade unions in the areas of research, teaching, higher education and advanced training.
ariadne Information Portal on "Psychosoziale Faktoren bei der betriebsärztlichen Tätigkeit"
(Psychosocial Factors of Company Physicians' Work)
ariadne has been created to provide support to company physicians when dealing with psychosocial aspects. The project follows on from a survey of company physicians conducted on behalf of the "Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin" (Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, BAuA), in which it became clear that there was a significant need for support with regard to psychosocial aspects.
